Wednesday 1st July
So had a half day host again today after rotary, and I got to visit his company, a paper making place befor going home, they live in a fairly old house in central Takaoka and we visted som of the other really old houses in the area that are set up as museums, we then went to Aeon where I spent the time wandering with my half day host sister (also 17) and I bought a few books and stuff coz everything was on special.

Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd
Both days themselves a little boring with not much to do at home during the day, however Thursday night saw us go to the judging night of the tanabata displays as Yuka had to write about it for Fridays paper. Apparently Imizu shi celebrates tanabata this month but Takaoka shi will celebrate it next month, so seeing as I live in imuzu but go to school in Takaoka I will kinda get to expericace it twice, and for that I'm sure not complaining.

Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July
Saturday morning I had school, well they had 2 tests, through which I sat in the library and did some kanji study! Fun stuff that. Actually kanji study is a lot easier now that I have finially finished making all my kanji flash cards, a process which I actually started about 5 times befor I found a way that I really liked, but they are finished now and are much easier to use than the last set I made. Anyway the reason I had to go to school was for homeclass where we talked more about camp. After that I went to my counselors house as my host family was away, so I spent the night at my counselors. His business makes and sells Sake (Japanese rice wine) so I got a tour of the brewery, only it was not in operation, they only actually make it during winter, and then it has to sit for at least a year. So really what I saw was a heap of sake bottles sitting around. Unlike wine it has to be stored upright in the bottle not lying down. Something to do with the pressure changes doing this stage. Sunday was mostly spent at my counselors house befor a quick trip to the rose garden at Himi that I went to with my first half day hosts dinner and then returning home to my regular host family, well minus my host mum.
