will get pictures up soon! (hopefully)

Wednesday 8th April
School, and we had another opening cerimonyish thing, the headmasters speech, so I think overall if may have been as long as a grace one when you add the 2 days up. And then homeclass where we played the name game… reminded me so much of the first English lesson of yeah 10 with Mr. Larsen… I never stopped thinking deckchair Dan lol! But I don’t think this really helped me learn their names at all coz they all spoke way to quietly! But that’s the Japanese for you!
Thursday 9th April
Thursday was our first day of lessons, and we were lucky enough to start off with pe! Yay! And today we just ran round and round the gym for the entire lesson. Usually we do 7 laps as a warm up, and seriously at first I was stuffed after 4 laps, stupid asthma but then again when I got here it was also only about 5 degrees in the gym coz it’s not at all heated. But today I managed to do 10 before slowing down, which was also when I realized we were doing it for the whole lesson not just as a warm up! But at least we got to listen to cool music… in English! Some of my favourite songs to.
I then had my Japanese lesson and the afternoon was filled with maths, Japanese and home class. At some point I had two of the girls in my class playing with my hair which was a little weird but anyway… then they wanted to know what shampoo I use and I was like I don’t know it’s all in kanji!
I also got to decided my timetable but I’ll write more about that later when I have actually experienced all the classes I'm taking and really decided if I am going to do them.
Friday 10th April
Classes again today not really anything interesting though, and yes band again!
Saturday 11th April
The morning was spent at band, came home had lunch then it was off to view the flowers at asahi-machi from the road there were red, purple and white tulips, then yellow rape flowers, then green, then the Sakura along the river bank then snow caped mountains in the background, truly amazing view, was sooo pretty, and smelt really good to.
We went out for dinner at a Chinese restaurant; still think that that is sooo strange coz I'm in Japan but anyway. I love gyoza!
After dinner we went for a walk through Kojo koeun (the park) and there were heaps of bonbori (lanterns) up, and the Sakura have all flowered now, and there were lots of food stalls and cool music, so it was good fun. I even bought a toffee apple! Gosh it’s been years since I had one of them.

Sunday 12th April
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
Easter here is nonexistent, which was really weird for me but anyway, I do like it being in spring! And what a lovely spring day it was to.
Today saw me having a picnic “mos burger” (it’s a restaurant chain) lunch at a park with my host mum, can’t remember the name of the park but it was in Imizu I think, like right on the boarder of Takaoka and Imizu. But it was cool, lots of fun stuff there, well fun for little kids, I would have fun on it to but there were too many little kids and I didn’t want everyone to think I was a complete fool, which of course I am, and I think they thought that anyway when I started posing for photos with all the characters of the doreamon manga figures that are in the park.
From there it was off to Tonami tulip museum which we will apparently go to again next week when the outdoor tulips will have bloomed! It’s hard to describe but it was awesome so pretty and again it smelt nice. Oh and tulip soft creams (ice-cream) are sooo yummy, Japan has every flavored soft creams, Sakura is pretty dam nice to but I think I prefer tulip.
It was then back to Kojo koeun for a festival, ooishibiki basically there were teams of about 20 people pulling 1 ton stones into the park of wooden sleds, from a fair distance away, there were a groups of Canadian students doing one, they are at one of the local school at the moment on a school trip. And then there was one huge 6 ton boulder at the end of it all. (That one was pulled by a lot more people).
I bought some more Toshinaga Kun (takaoka’s mascot) goods; a few more badges, with Sakura and the one for the event I was at, and a deck of cards which all have a different picture of the town on it and it even came with a map of where the pictures were taken.
My glasses broke tonight to, just the screw fell out, and so I'm currently wearing my old pair and will take them to get fixed tomorrow.

Monday 13th April

I had the day off school today because my class, well everyone actually had the whole days doing tests on their holidays homework. So after getting my glasses fixed, okasan and I headed to Kanazawa, on the fast train, which is twice the price of the regular train, but gets you there is half the time.
In Kanazawa we went to the castle garden, where Ayumi and I were going to go had it not been such awful weather the day I visited her, this included going into kenrokuen, which is just more gardens but a part you have to pay to go into but it’s well worth it coz they were sooo pretty especially with all the Sakura in bloom.
I got a Sakura t-shirt to, I was trying to find a Sakura badge for my blazer but failed at that but scored an awesome shirt (cheap to) in the process.
