the 20 of us Exchange Students. :)
so, we had another orientation weekend, which was good fun, and it was great to see all the exchange students and commitee members again. but the real point of this blog is what followed that weekend. as our training and information sessions about our exchange wraped up. our excitement grew, as we were about to hop on the bus for what would turn out to be one of the best weeks in our lives. we were embarking on SUNSHINE SAFARI.
Sunshine Safari, was a week long trip with 19 of us exchange students, the 15 inbounders and 4 of the 5 of us outbounders, and we trecked around our district 9600.
on this trip we did many fun things, we did a highropes course, absaled down a cliffe face, went on a 25km canoe up the upper noosa river, went to kondallila falls, and mary caincross national park. as well as many other things i cant think of at the moment. the majority of our meals were catered for us by the rotary clubs we visited, and a huge thankyouto them for that. the rest of our meals were organized by russ and merilyn our leaders on the camp. a huge thankyou also needs to go out to Andrew our awsome bus driver. Last but not by anymeans least thankyou to all my fellow exchange students for making our week absolutly brillient.
if you have not been part of this sort of group, of international students i very much doubt you know what its like, but when we split up our group on saturday afternoon as we all went our seprate ways to go home, it was a very sad time, because while i dont for a moment doubt that i will most probebly catch up with all of them at some point or another, for us to ever get all 19 of us from 10 diffrent countries (Australia-4 , Austria-2, Brazil-3, Canada-1, Denmark-3, France-1, Germany-1, Japan-1, Sweden-1, switerland-2)together as one group again it will be a major feat, and that knowledge that our group that had grown so close was spliting up was very hard and emotional for alot of us.
anyway picture time
