leaving for Japan~Wednesday 7th September 05

Had to be at the at the airport at 6 to get checked in then we had about half an hour to say goodbye to our families we then headed through to our gate and waited. The plane trip was not as boring as I thought it would be. I sat between Mel and Lana. We had our own little tv screens on which I watched monster in law and part of the godfather and played a lot of games. When we landed and were walking through the connector thing from the plane to the airport we stoped to check that we had everyone but we didn’t, we had already lost Mr Stolz. We got our first taste of Japanese trains about 15min after getting of the plane when we had to catch the connecting plane between terminals. Once out of the airport we got on our tour bus that would take us to our hotel in Tokyo. I was in a room with Mel (Melissa), Lana, Shona and Melanie. It was a traditional Japanese style room tatama floors and futon beds.
For dinner that night Aii (Mrs Forman’s friend) met us at our hotel and took us to Denny’s. The meals were good but when it came to paying it was rather funny as no one had any change so many of us payed either too little or to much.
Our hotel had communal baths but for tonight we all went in separately.
